Greetings to all our valued KZN SAACI members and a special welcome to our many new members!
After a very successful Annual SAACI Congress which took place in July, it is now time to start focusing on our KZN branch, its members and planning upcoming events.
This year, KZN SAACI introduces its first Halloween event!
We hope you have all saved the date: Thursday 31st October! Like all our other events, this is a great forum to network with industry colleagues in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. We are taking it one step further by inviting you to dress up as your favourite scary character (could that be a client?? LOL!) Share some of your most horrifying experiences within the events industry along with how you and your team resolved it, and stand a chance to win amazing prizes. Further details of this event will be sent out shortly via an invitation. We urge everyone to attend and bring along a colleague too, as missing out on this fun and unique event would be a GRAVE mistake!
We would like to make you aware of a very exciting award open to all our KZN members, we introduce the ‘Carol Macnab Award’.
‘Very few people in the industry did not know Carol Macnab, she was a stalwart and a wealth of information especially when it came to SAACI. We often described her as the glue that kept us together and that she was. This award was inspired by a handful of people in the industry that knew Carol well, as a bold leader who worked tirelessly behind the scenes with unwavering passion and commitment for SAACI and the Industry. As an inspirational role model who made a difference in the lives of others, it made perfect sense to create an award in her honour.
The member who has the honour of receiving this award should show the same attributes, at the same time, raising awareness of SAACI, remaining dedicated and actively involved in all its activities.’ – Nick Papadopoulos.
We look forward to communicating the award criteria and rolling out the voting process soon. In the interim, please start thinking of someone deserving of this award and the recognition.
SAACI KZN Committee Update
We unfortunately said goodbye to Terrilyn Goldman (Vice Chair) and Justine Snyman and we thank them for all they have done for SAACI, they will be missed. We are thrilled to advise you that Tarannum Banatwalla has been selected as the Vice-Chair and that we have welcomed Lisa Lovegrove as a new addition to the committee. Our committee currently stands as follows:
Tracey Delport (Chair), Tarannum Banatwalla (Vice Chair), Kim Jackson (Treasurer), Irene Vallihu, Vicki Hooper, Lisa Lovegrove, Mabuyi Mosia and Kerry Potgieter (KZN Branch Coordinator).
