The further extension of the Disaster Management Act, until the 15 November 2020, indicates that the current status of operation in accordance with Alert Level 1 Regulations remains in place for our industry. It also calls for the Business Events industry to continue to respond with resilience and kindness. Our industry’s ability to adapt with the highest health and safety standards and innovations so events can resume safely, should be commended.
We have faced major challenges, and as we head into the last few months of 2020. It is now even more important for us to work together, stay positive, and actively work towards recovery. SAACI will continue work with our alliances and networks to force government to support our sector further.
Back to Business:
The industry is slowly working and understanding how we get back to business, and members are working hard behind the scenes to support clients for this return to business. The Events Safety Guidelines remains a core planning document, which demonstrates adherence to Government and public health guidance. We continue to encourage members, and the Business Events Sector, to carry out risk assessments and have the required processes in place prior, during and post events. This approach gives a ring of confidence that the industry is ensuring the highest standard of new safety and operational procedures.
