In a fitting way, we wrapped up Women’s Month 2021 with the announcement of the various category winners for the Women in MICE awards earlier this week. To all our colleagues we thank you for your tireless work in our industry this past year.
At the same time, the SAACI KZN Committee hosted their networking function at the Edward Hotel in Durban. A robust session where the SAACI CEO gave the KZN members the opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at the work the Association has been doing on behalf of our members and the broader Business Events Industry.
We cannot overemphasize the importance of an in-person event. The interaction, the engagement as well as the opportunity to build an atmosphere in a room, will never be replicated through an online event. Members who attended, left more clearer and with a greater understanding of how important it is for us to Spring back into action.
SAACI hopes that the many proposals, discussions and presentations to our government and stakeholders, will yield a positive announcement during the course of the next few days. We believe that we should be allowed greater freedom to work, through the efforts administered and actioned during the course of the past 18 months. We need to get people meeting again in-person.
