When South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa opened this year’s Intra-African Trade Fair by saying that the event “is about building bridges”, while “it brings together governments, buyers, investors, entrepreneurs and manufacturers from more than 55 countries to give life to the African Continental Free Trade Area”, he declared “The countries of Africa are open for business”.
SAACI shares that sentiment, we urge the President and his cabinet to OPEN our industry for business. Our industry, our members, and our partners made this week’s Intra-African Trade Fair week happen.
Our Industry makes trade happen. We are not on the stands, we may not be on the stage, but we are the ones behind these events that drive economies and addresses issues such as climate change as we saw in Glasgow, Scotland.
We have shared weekly that we have developed a roadmap for re-opening the Business Events Industry, that will not only see the industry build a sustained recovery but also Build Back Confidence.
So Mr. President, Lift the Restrictions and OPEN the Business Events Industry.
