Industry Galvanisation

11 Feb 2022

With another State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered last night by President Cyril Ramaphosa, industry stakeholders gathered in the days leading up to and on the day of the Address last night to assess the State of our industry.

Your Association played a key role in the past week’s engagements.

SAACI’s continuous role in representing members’ interest within the key policy and industry advocacy workstreams, ensure our push for key relief and industry recovery activities that will drive member benefits, as well as Destination SA’s recovery. This is has been the core of the work we are doing, for you, our members.

SAACI shared the platform as part of the media briefing for Meetings Africa 2022. The National Chairperson of SAACI, Kim Roberts, shared industry insights into the Business Events’ Contribution to the Economy.

The role of SAACI and the work we do on behalf of our members ensures that we are a key stakeholder in the Global Advocacy Stakeholder Forum engagement held hours before the State of the Nation Address.

SAACI will drive private sector’s needs within the National Airlift and Mobility Workstream which deals with access to Destination SA. These engagements include all forms of mobility to the country. A key consideration is access on the African continent and our key source markets.

For SAACI, our view is how we make access and mobility seamless for delegates, events planners and their clients.

Work is in progress and this Industry Galvanisation has a clear timeline for deliverables that we will share at Meetings Africa 2022.
