As the dust settles on what may be a tipping point in South African Local Government Elections, which has left many a municipality or metro with uncertainty on how coalition governments will be formed to ensure service delivery, SAACI calls for better Certainty for the Business Events Industry.
The past week, with our association partners, we have been engaging all relevant national government teams with the support of our social partners at NEDLAC that seeks to ensure we have better certainty around keeping the industry open with gradually increasing pax and venue usage that will aid the recovery momentum we are experiencing at present.
This certainty will allow for better planning, it will mitigate any need for restrictions, and it will allow for both human resource recovery and financial recovery.
As we do weekly, we urge all members and the broader Business Events Industry to ensure that we keep each other in check, and we continue to deliver our events in a safe manner.
It is heart-warming to see the continuation of in-person business events that are happening across the country.
