The rhythm of the weather seasons is a constant cycle, which brings about expected change to our climate, while we witness and feel changes to our physical environment as well.
The past few days have seen a shift in a change of approach by government as our country attempts to move out of the State of Disaster that is currently governed by the Disaster Management Act, into a more normalised way of managing our lives again.
As SAACI, we have worked on ensuring that our submission for comment on the proposed changes in the regulations published by the Minister of Health (in Government Gazette no 46048 of 15 March 2022) and the Disaster Management Amendment Regulations (published on the 29th of March 2022 (Act No.57 of 2002)), by the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), be reconsidered in its current form.
Our submission on behalf of members provides clarity on the need for a balanced approach in getting us fully open, while we work our way through this pandemic.
So, in welcoming a new weather season, we welcome the move to allow us all to find our new way of living with the pandemic.
We further welcome the second quarter of 2022 and hope it continues to bring with it the gained momentum we have yielded in the earlier months of the year.
